Zo the double zero.

September 16th, 2021 by David

This book is organized in order, with each chapter being a discussion of records of each number in the many Books of Numbers that have been created. It is the internet age, so like programmers we could begin at zero, but this book is about pushing that limit. So we start at Zo..

Zo is the nothingness before zero. Zero is a place marker that specifies absence. In the Decimal number ten it is absence in the ones place. At the limits of math I present to you a number that doesn’t allow for the confusion of ten, which has a zero and yet is substantial and representative of a considerable amount;. Zo is a zero in the ten’s place so deep in the void that it destroys the ten’s place! Zo forces content back all the way to hun (a hundred), which is a relatively giant number, Zo destroys the ten’s place, giving the first digit the domain of everything from 00 – 99. That is, by declaring a zo in some circumstance you are saying that that location has no ones and tens are no longer possible. That declaration is a big bang. It is a cognitive shift that carries a great deal of implication and cultural baggage. Charles Seife has written the biography of zero, but it falls on us to expand that biography to include the new fatter but identical twin. Abandoning the tens place is a big move and I have to discuss it at the very beginning of this text to stay consistent. You can master this thought though. Say Ohmmmmm as if you are meditating on the nature of the void, but instead of placing that nothingness in the ones place with a zero reach down into the deepest core of your being and expand that nothingness an entire digit. Zo is zero, yes, but it is zero zero and it can not be outdone by any numerical system known to man. It is the biggest nihilist imaginable and you can hear it cry out “NOTHING. AND DON’T BUG ME TILL YOU GET TO A HUN!”

What do you think of this? Does it come across as accessible? Many people will begin the book here, in fact that’s what I’d like to encourage. Should I discuss why programmers begin at zero already more? Should I split somne sentences in two or delete some? Thanks for input.
