Buying cards.

February 4th, 2022 by David

The other month I bought blank cards that I thought I would be stamping with HunimAPL symbols and names. I don’t have the stamps so they are lounging on my floor, neglected. Buying cards, though, is an important part of gaming that is not taken into consideration in a lot of strategy AI. Placing bets has been done, AI can beat you at poker, no matter your skill level. Very specific and bizarre bets turn out to be the right kind of bluff and value play and computers can calculate those in ways a normal human can’t. But placing bets is different from buying cards. I play Plants V. Zombies Heroes edition and I have the option of spending hard-received ( not earned , I have to admit) dollars on and that decision is a strategic one. If I am satisfi4ed with my deck I could spend that money on a Magic the Gathering pack instead. I’d love to have a strategic discussion with an intelligent program about the wisdom of purchases like that in the gaming and real world. My belief right now is that any money spent on games is a waste int h face of corruption and neglect that have run rampant and damaged me and my family so much. I can strategically value a trip to Seattle with a name change to Radical as good valued purchases of freedom and progress for all of us, but I can’t explain that opinion to our AI yet. I would like to change that. A “Durak” is a fool in Russian and our AI for Durak will use foolishness as a learning tool to begin to train a language intelligence that coins combinatorial strategic jargon. At least that is the goal. I want AI that makes me more intelligent, not an AI that simply outperforms me. I want to know what words to choose in my up[coming name change if I was to target specific words with a semantic movement for justice. The distance from our card game AI to that kind of social and linguistic intelligence is vast, but the goal can be expressed and that’s what I’m doing. I want AI that can teach a pure communist what to best use their money for as an investment. I want an AI that can teach a spoiled capitalist the best place to spend their empathy time to connect with others most efficiently. I want AI that can teach us some new words that are clever, relevant and even beautiful. I am the Durak here, I don’t program and I don’t know how to get any of this done. I misspend my time on playing games and dreaming of vast cultural changes that are unlikely. Our AI, though, doesn’t have to be as simple minded and Durak, the eventual robotic creature, could bring us an intelligence most interesting and alien to our worlds!
